To be released beginning on February 5, 2020. The release will be rolled out to groups of accounts over a span of several days. Consequently, some changes may not appear on your account until after the release date.

The Version 7.8 release includes the following changes and enhancements.

Top level admin menu now on the left

The top-level menu in admin view has been moved from the top to the left side of the screen.

Separating the top-level menu from the second-level options (which still appear at the top of the screen) makes for a clearer separation between the two sets of options. 

Settings screen divided into two 

The Settings screen has been overhauled and divided into two separate screens: Global settings and Website settings. From the Global settings screen, you can access settings that apply to your entire Wild Apricot account. From the Website settings screen, you can access settings specific to the setup of your Wild Apricot website. 

To display the Global settings screen, click the Settings option within the menu bar on the left side of admin view.

To display the Website settings screen, click the Settings option within the Website module menu.

The options within the Settings screens have been reorganized for easier and more intuitive access. Several options that are already available on drop-down menus have been removed, making for cleaner and less crowded screens.

On the Settings screens, restricted administrators will only see the options they have been granted access to.

Account options moved

The Account menu has been moved from the top right to the bottom left of the screen to make it more visible and easier to access.

New Help center menu

In place of the Help, Support, Academy, and Feedback icons in the upper right corner of admin view is a new Help center menu in the lower left corner that combines these options.

Within the Website module, the Help center menu appears in the upper right corner.

The help panel that appears when you click the Help & Support option will suggest appropriate help topics based on your current location.

Remaining TLS protocols to be updated

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is an encryption method used to provide a secure connection over computer networks. The latest and most secure version of TLS is version 1.2. Systems that use earlier versions will be flagged as less secure by security services like Trustwave. In March of 2018, we upgraded our payment protocols to version 1.2, and in this release, we’ll be upgrading our remaining protocols to version 1.2.  

Bug fixes

A number of issues identified by our clients have been fixed, including but not limited to the following:

  • Unable to edit email template on Microsoft Edge
  • Accessing the Payment settings screen returns an internal error
  • AffiniPay returns error when updating credit card in profile
  • Loading error when opening member directory
  • Large contact list not loading when attempting to select email recipients
  • Receipts not sent for recurring membership payments
  • PayPal Express Checkout options shown for site that uses PayPal Standard
  • Email sent using API's remote procedure call has a reply-to address of support@wildapricot.com
  • Access denied when trying to access a member photo album in admin view
